Thunderbirds, Eagles & Wildcats to tangle in 3-game preseason set
SUDBURY – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday that the Soo Thunderbirds, Soo Eagles and Elliot Lake Wildcats will meet in a three-game preseason set Labour Day weekend at the John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
Action will commence Saturday, Sept. 5 as the Eagles and Wildcats square off at 1 p.m.
Later that evening, at 8 p.m., Elliot Lake will take to the ice once again when they take on the Thunderbirds at John Rhodes.
The three-team series will then conclude Sunday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. when the cross-border rival T-Birds and Eagles renew acquaintances.
With the addition of these three games, there are now currently 20 NOJHL exhibition contests on the slate.
Regular season play will begin Friday, Sept. 11 with all 12 member clubs in action.
