SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Already sitting second in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League in goals scored on home ice, the Soo Eagles tacked on another seven more Friday as they went on to dump the Blind River Beavers 7-1 at Pullar Stadium.
Jacob Palmerio sent Sault Ste. Marie on their way 6:44 into the contest as he connected during a man advantage opportunity.
Jake Saxton added another for the home side later in the frame to put them up by a pair after 20 minutes.
The Soo then tallied twice in a 17-second span early in the middle stanza to go up by four as Kyle Quinn and Christian Bardarson connected to chase Blind River starter Michael Corson in favour of Garret Boyonoski.
Nick Techel beat Boyonoski midway through the contest to extend the Eagles cushion.
The Beavers did get one back in the third off the stick of Jack Rudin before Bobby Price picked up his first two NOJHL tallies in the back half of the period to finish off the one-sided decision.
Banser dished out three assists to aid the Soo cause while Quinn had two.
Shane Brancato made 23 saves to pick-up the win for the Eagles.
Corson suffered the loss allowing four against on 25 attempts while Boyonoski handled 33 of 36 in 36 and a half minutes of relief.
