SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Soo Eagles have announced that defenceman Coby Fox has committed to attend NCAA Division III school Johnson @ Wales University in Providence, R.I., and play for the Wildcats men’s program.

Wrapping up his Jr. A career, the Eagles’ captain set personal single-season highs in goals, assists and points from the back-end in 2023-24 with five, 27 and 32 respectively.

Fox’s efforts helped the Michigan Soo go 16-5-0-1 in match-ups in which he etched his name on the game sheet at least once. He also had seven multi-point outings on the season.

Appearing in 138 career NOJHL contests, the Littleton, Colo., product amassed 68 points in all on nine tallies and 59 helpers.

He becomes the fifth Eagles’ player from this season who will continue his career, as well as further their education, by committing to a collegiate hockey program in the fall, joining teammates Jack Paweski; Darby McCarthy; Marino Ramirez and Michael Starzomski.

The Johnson & Wales Wildcats compete out of the 10-school New England Hockey Conference.
