KIRKLAND LAKE, Ont. – Due to an ice issue prior to the start of the second period of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League contest Friday between the Soo Eagles and Kirkland Lake Gold Miners at Joe Mavrinac Community Complex, the game has been suspended.

The Eagles held a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes of play prior to the match-up being halted on goals by Tyler Culleton and Seth Ferguson.

Ryan Evenhuis had the Kirkland Lake marker.

With the problem with the ice making the remainder of the contest unsafe for the resumption of the proceedings and deemed unplayable, it was stopped with still 40 minutes remaining.

The NOJHL will announce further plans as to when the game will be resumed, once they are finalized.
